Cultural Threads x Hooded Alchemy

Cultural Threads × Hooded Alchemy is a student-led exploration of cultural heritage and contemporary design developed within the Art Foundation Program at VCUarts Qatar. Through research and abstraction, students examined cultural artifacts, textiles, and falconry traditions to extract patterns, forms, and visual rhythms tied to identity and place. These elements were transformed into graphic compositions applied to custom Abayas and handcrafted falcon hoods, blending tradition with modern expression. Presented throughout Doha Design District’s elevators, hallways, and shared spaces, the installation unfolds gradually, turning everyday architecture into alternative exhibition sites that celebrate culture as an evolving, creative practice shaped by emerging voices.
