Doha Design District (DDD) hosted their Annual Student Design Competition, in collaboration with Msheireb Properties, which invited architecture and urban planning students from the College of Engineering at Qatar University to design pavilion concepts for the EXPO 2027 in Japan. Guided by the expert mentorship of Msheireb architects, this collaborative initiative offered students the practical opportunity to apply Msheireb’s architectural language onto real-world challenges on a global stage. The winning concept, created by student Aia Elrayah, will serve as the foundation for Qatar’s pavilion at Expo Yokohama 2027, distinguished by its innovative approach and cultural depth.
