2.2 is the work of Fatma Abdulkareem AlQassabi, an emerging Qatari designer and artist.
Carved from pink marble, 2.2 was conceived as a meditation on what power looks like when refracted through softness.
The delicacy of the material’s color stands in deliberate tension with its weight; the elegance of its form with the competitive sport it represents.
2.2 was made possible through the support of Deemah Stone, a DDD tenant and international leader in stonemasonry with a presence across Australia and the Middle East.
For Doha Design District, this collaboration reflects our ongoing commitment to opening our spaces to emerging talent; creating real, permanent platforms for designers who are shaping what Qatari design looks and feels like.
