Meet Art Reach
For the past 10 years, Art Reach’s mission has been to recreate public spaces through vibrant, community-driven art interventions. Rooted in the belief that art connects people and places, we design and implement community art initiatives that create lasting social impact. The Art Reach team designs collaborative studio art workshops suited to different artistic abilities. Focusing primarily on mosaic art, workshop participants become part of a shared creative process that fosters connection, collective memory, and a sense of belonging rooted in creativity and pride of place.
Material comforts alone aren’t enough to enrich everyday life. We also need opportunities for social connection and creative expression. Public art initiatives can help people connect with ideas, memories, and identities.” Lena Dajani, Program Director― Lena Dajani, Program Director
Key Projects
- Standing Tall,” the Water Garden’s mosaic sculptures, Manama (2024-2025) - Working in partnership with the US Embassy in Bahrain, Art Reach designed a six-week course for alumni of the English Access Scholarship Program to design and build a vibrant mosaic installation for a public park in Manama. Participants practiced their English language skills while discovering what it means to be true place-makers: citizens who shape their surroundings through creativity, care, and collaboration.
- A Mosaic Garden for a public hospital, Manama (2018-2019) - Art Reach partnered with STC Bahrain in a community art initiative to redesign and refurbish a children’s garden in the Psychiatric Hospital, Manama. The outdoor space beside the Children’s Psychiatric Clinic had been neglected and unused for years. The new design introduced a large playground, a colorful outdoor garden for visiting families and staff to enjoy, and an area suitable for patients and staff for supervised patient activities.
- A Spiral Maze for Al Fatih Corniche Park, Manama (2015-2018) - With support from multiple partners and creatives, a spiral maze design included 140 panels of mosaic art made by volunteers over a 3-year period. Corporate sponsors and government entities facilitated the realization of the installation by providing services-in-kind in studio space, construction works, mosaic installation and strategic support.
- Adliya’s colorful benches, Manama (2015) - With support from Al Riwaq Art Space and creative volunteers, Art Reach refurbished neglected cement benches in a popular pedestrian neighborhood and transformed them into works of art. Through self-initiated public space beautification projects, Art Reach set out to make something happened that went beyond art as entertainment. Volunteers were invited not only to express their creativity in mosaic art, but to take back control of their neighborhood and re-create public space.
