Meet Fatma Abdulkareem AlQassabi
Fatma Abdulkareem AlQassabi is an emerging Qatari designer and artist.
A senior in Interior Design at Virginia Commonwealth University School of the Arts in Qatar (VCUarts Qatar), Fatma’s practice centres on the transformation of functional objects into conceptual statements that challenge inherited ideas about power, endurance, and femininity.
Her first permanent public installation, 2.2, commissioned in collaboration with Deemah Stone and hosted by Doha Design District, exemplifies this approach. A full-scale table tennis table carved from pink marble, the work reframes a familiar object as a meditation on elegant power.
I design strength in soft forms, where what appears delicate holds the greatest power.
Key Projects
